There are several possible reasons the device is starting with a low battery or has batteries that drain quickly.
- Battery drains while not in use:
When the TYPE-R is in the dock (with dock charger), the power is off, and not connected to a power supply, the battery will drain from the dock charger. A fully charged device will lose all power in about 10 days. The TYPE-R's charged battery also depletes when not in use and not plugged in.
Try to keep the TYPE-R plugged in. Remove the dock charger from the dock when not in use/plugged in, else it will drain in a few days. Note that when the battery drains all the way, the system clock is reset, but should automatically fix the time when the device connects to GPS.
- The TYPE-R is not recognizing the dock charger:
The TYPE-R turns off after 2 hours of use, even though the dock charger is in use. This is occurring because of a hardware issue in the PP (pre production) version where the TYPE-R does not recognize the dock charger.
Put in the dock charger AFTER the TYPE-R has finished booting on. Make sure the "charging" lightening icon is showing on the battery icon on the upper right corner of the screen. If you still see an issue, try taking the dock charger out and putting it back in.
